1. Q: What is Rise Together?

Rise Together is a fundraising initiative driven jointly by the Montreal Canadiens, the Laval Rocket, evenko and L’Équipe Spectra to support our frontline healthcare workers and those impacted by COVID-19. Many unique items and experiences will be auctioned or awarded online at https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/fans/risetogether.

  1. Q: Why did we choose to create this initiative?

For an organization such as ours, we have access to a wide variety of unique experiences. We also believe that our role as a catalyst and our connection to our fan base provides a unique ability to bring even more awareness and visibility to this initiative.

  1. Q: Who will Rise Together benefit?

We chose to support the Centraide of Greater Montreal COVID-19 Emergency Fund because Centraide is a renowed organization, but also because it is well-connected with the community on many levels. The COVID-19 Emergency Fund established by Centraide of Greater Montreal serves the entire population in Greater Montreal and, with the collaboration of the 17 regional Centraide offices, can easily reach the populations most affected by COVID-19 throughout the province of Quebec.

We also chose to feed the frontline healthcare workers by preparing and serving them meals at different CHSLD locations in Greater Montreal .

  1. Q: Will there be more online prizes added in the future?

During the first two weeks, multiple prizes and experiences will be available online. This list will be updated regularly, and we invite everyone to check back frequently for the latest additions.

We are still in the process of confirming new prizes with our players, and we welcome artists or athletes who would like to join us to offer unique experiences.

  1. Q: How long will this initiative last?

We will determine the duration of this initiative based on how the situation evolves.

  1. Q: Do you accept direct donations?

Given the wide variety of prizes offered, we are confident that everyone will find a way to participate in our sweepstakes or auctions. If you wish to donate directly to Centraide, please visit https://www.centraide-mtl.org/en/.

  1. Q: How does an online auction work?

A list of items and experiences being auctioned can be found online via the Rise Together landing page. The auctions will be open for a period of time determined by us, subject to change. Participants can bid many times on a given auction by outbidding the previous offer in minimum increments of $50 to try to win the prize or experience. Participants can track the status of the item or experience to see if its price has increased. The person with the highest bid when the auction ends will win the prize.

  1. Q: How long will the auctions be open?

The auctions will be open for a period of time determined by us, subject to change. Once the auctions end, winners will be contacted and we will publish another set of items or experiences to be auctioned for a period of time determined by us, subject to change. This process will continue until the fundraiser is over.

  1. Q: When will the winners be notified?

Once the auctions and the sweepstakes close, winners will be contacted directly. Winners of the sweepstakes will be announced. Auction winners will have to grant us permission in order for us to publish their names.

  1. Q: I live outside of Quebec, can I participate in these auctions and sweepstakes?

Yes, you can participate in both the auctions and the sweepstakes.

  1. Q: If I am under 18 years old, can I still participate?

All participants in the auctions and the sweepstakes must be 18 years of age or older.

  1. Q: Will I have to pay taxes on the prize(s) that I won?

The GST/QST do not apply to the purchase of sweepstakes entries. Auction prizes are subject to the GST/QST, but they are already included in the bids of our winners. Other taxes or fees could apply, as the case may be.
